Swing Arm for Body Armor Rear Bumpers

Serious off road drivers know that they need to make sure their Jeeps are equipped with the proper gear before they hit the trails.  Things like a spare tire, extra gas and a winch are no brainers for these people.  That’s because they know that they run the risk of getting stuck miles away from help – or even a cell signal to call for help.  However, when you have one of the bumpers made by Body Armor you will have the ability to be prepared for anything that might come your way.

Body Armor knows the off road like they know the backs of their hands.  Their bumpers can be found on the roughest and toughest trail blazers, dune surfers and rock crawlers in the world.  It doesn’t matter if you are getting ready to cross the Ozarks or surf across the MOAB, the Body Armor bumper is one thing you will not want to leave at home.

Rear Bumpers and Swing Arms

When you are entering unchartered territory while driving your Jeep, the chances are that you will find yourself in a sticky situation.  Since you won’t leave the trail without your Jeep, you will have to have a way to get it out of whatever sticky situation you put it in.  This is where a Body Armor rear bumper comes in handy.  This is the bumper you need to give you a solid anchor to reel your rig in.

This bumper has been designed specifically for intrepid rock crawlers.  It has been made from a 2 inch by 5 inch rectangular tube of steel.  The Swing-Away models have heavy duty shackles welded into place that connect to a set of D rings.  Additionally, there is a 2 inch receiver hitch that comes on the models meant for Jeep TJ, YJ and CJ.  This is perfect for those recoveries in reverse.

For off road versatility that is unparalleled you can upgrade the basic bumper with the Swing Away package.  This package includes not just a swing away tire carrier but also a mount for your Hi Lift jack, a mount for your J-can and a mount for your CB antenna.  All of this just swings out of your way when you want access to your rear cargo area.

Body Armor Trail Doors

Most of the time, people will buy a Jeep because of the innate ability of a Jeep to conquer the off road.  However, in order to be able to do that safely, you need to have the Jeep equipped properly.  Some of this equipment may be considered common sense…extra fuel, a winch and a spare tire for example.  However, you will also need to get a good set of what are considered to be trail doors.

Body Armor knows what it takes to be off road just as well as any other Jeeper does.  Why?  Every employee at Body Armor is an off road warrior themselves.  They will not make and sell any piece of equipment that they would not put on their own Jeeps.

Recon

Body Armor makes a set of doors that they call Recon trail doors.  These doors have a unique design that includes what are known as speed gusset plates.  These doors also have a system of dual position hidden latches that are a Body Armor exclusive feature.  The latch systems ensure that you get a positive latch that is secure and is easy to operate whether you are outside or inside the Jeep.

The Recon trail doors also have inserts made from nylon webbing that will add to the amount of protection that you get from the debris of the trail while they also increase the amount of visibility that you have.  Body Armor didn’t forget the limiting straps either.  These straps are crucial when it comes to keeping your doors opening only to the desired amount.  If you want to install mirrors on these doors, there are holes already drilled into the doors for that reason.  The doors themselves are constructed from steel tubing and have been given a durable black powder coat although you can also get them in bare steel if you like.

Installation is an easy thing.  Just take off your existing doors and put these doors right on the factory hinges.  There are no modifications necessary at all.

Sold in pairs, these doors come with a 60 warranty for the finish.
